Why Visit Concierge Camping?

If your idea of camping involves immaculate facilities, spacious pitches and a touch of luxury, then Concierge Camping may well be one of the best campsites in southern England.

Nestled within the beautiful Sussex countryside near Chichester, this award-winning campsite offers a five-star camping experience without losing the relaxed atmosphere that makes camping so appealing. Whether you’re touring in a motorhome, small camper, or caravan, Concierge Camping feels more like a boutique retreat than a traditional campsite.

Its location is another huge advantage. Positioned between the South Downs National Park and Chichester Harbour, you’re perfectly placed to explore beaches, countryside walks, historic towns and literary-inspired landscapes.

For book lovers, this is exactly the sort of campsite that encourages slow travel. It’s peaceful, beautifully maintained and filled with quiet corners where you can settle down with a good book and simply enjoy your surroundings.

Location & Accessibility
One of the biggest selling points of Concierge Camping is its location at the foot of the South Downs National Park. The approach, just off of the main road, is suitable for all-sized vehicles, and the entrance is spacious with plenty of room to park up ahead of checking in.

Arriving at Concierge Camping

First impressions are excellent.

The approach through the Sussex countryside sets the tone perfectly, and upon arrival, it’s immediately obvious why the site has won so many awards. Landscaping is immaculate, pitches are generously spaced, and everything feels thoughtfully designed.

The warm welcome we received immediately highlighted how special this place was, and I quickly realised this is a place where return visits become standard, as the two families in front of me had both enjoyed the campsite previously.

Walking into the reception area, you could be walking into a hotel. It is clean, bright and completely unique. Yes, the small shop is attached to it, but the greeting we received felt like we were being welcomed home, even though we had never visited before. Everything was explained to us, and all queries were answered as if the question had never been asked before.

It is also the only time I have looked around a small campsite shop and noted the luxurious foods and champagne in the fridges. If you didn’t realise before this point, it is at this stage of your check-in that you grasp just how lavish this campsite is in comparison to others.

Facilities Review

Firstly, it’s important to note that this isn’t a campsite where you’re squeezed into a field alongside dozens of neighbouring units. Privacy and space are clearly priorities.

The Pitches

The Emperor pitch at Concierge Camping

An Emperor Pitch

There are three types of pitches to choose from, including touring pitches, which are generous in size and have both a hardstanding and grass area enclosed by hedges for privacy. You then have their Gladiator pitches, which are extremely large at 15m x 8m. Again, these are hardstanding with a grass area that alone exceeds a standard-sized pitch on any other site and are wrapped with hedges.

Finally, you have the Emperor pitches, which not only include a large hardstanding area but also a separate cabin housing a wood-burning stove, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, an air fryer, an oversized TV, an outdoor fire pit and an en suite.

These pitches are the epitome of luxury; there is no other way to describe them. Add to this that many of them also sit on the banks of the stream running through the site, allowing you to enjoy the local wildlife as well.

Regardless of which pitch you opt for, you are in for a fantastic stay, but for those looking for something completely unique and memorable, the emperor pitches are a must. Plus, even if you own a Concorde or a Morello, these can be accommodated.

Pitch prices also include up to 6 people and 3 dogs. Yes, you read that correctly; those travelling with their four-legged friends will not be charged extra on this site, which is often a frustration for those travelling with pets.

Amenities

If there is one area where Concierge Camping truly excels, it’s the facilities.

The site has built its reputation around delivering hotel-standard amenities while retaining the freedom and atmosphere of outdoor living. On top of the fully-serviced pitches, which include electricity, fresh water, and drainage, WiFi throughout is standard (for those that do not want to switch off for a few days!).

Toilets & Showers

The facilities are frequently highlighted by visitors as one of the best aspects of staying here. Here you can expect modern, private shower rooms with high-quality fittings that scream hotel standard, complete with shower gel and shampoo, excellent cleanliness and consistent hot water, which can never be taken for granted on a campsite. It is fair to say that these are among the most luxurious campsite facilities you’ll find anywhere in the UK.

Washing Up and Laundry Area

Even the dishwashing facilities maintain the same high standards. The indoor washing-up area is clean, practical and protected from the elements, which is always appreciated. While the washing machines are state-of-the-art and immaculately clean.

Ice Machine

Yes, you read that correctly!

There is an ice machine on site that everyone can benefit from. Whether it is cooling down soft drinks or that all-important glass of wine or Gin and Tonic, there is an abundance of ice for everyone to enjoy and perfect during the summer months.

The Bar

Just as unique as the rest of this campsite, the bar area is tucked away and unobtrusive to the rest of the campsite. With both an indoor and outdoor seating area, no matter what the weather, you can enjoy a cocktail, a glass of wine or a bottle of bubbles here. Outside the area can be lit up brightly at night, adding to the atmosphere, while inside there is a small stage area for live music acts and their very own food truck, NOTSO, serving both street food and pizzas.

Noise, Atmosphere & Experience

This is not a loud holiday park; this is a luxury camping experience revolving around stepping away from the pressures of everyday life.

The atmosphere is calm, relaxed and geared towards visitors who appreciate quality surroundings and a quieter environment. Yes, there is a distant hum coming from the main road, but this is so minor that it is easily drowned out by birdsong.

Ducks along the waterline at Concierge camping

In fact, the peace is one of the main attractions for the majority of the campers who visit Concierge Camping. This is not just a normal campsite; however, it is the overall experience that people are prepared to pay for – the large, private pitches, the luxury toilet and shower facilities and the unique bar area that offers everything, including a fantastic selection of wines and bubbles, food trucks offering a selection of different options and live music acts.

While for those that are happy to spend time in their motorhome or caravan, it’s also the kind of place where spending an evening reading outside your pitch feels entirely natural, even in the winter months, where you could also light a fire pit and toast a couple of marshmallows at the same time.

Mobile Signal/WiFi/Remote Working

The site offers campsite-wide WiFi and broadband access to pitches. Mobile reception is also generally reliable across most networks, which means that, should you really want to remain connected, you can still jump online or even stream your favourite programmes.

For remote workers seeking a countryside escape without completely disconnecting, Concierge Camping performs surprisingly well.
