Perfect name for the place. It’s amazing how much (er how little) we learned in school compared to what we still need to learn isn’t it? It’s always good to look forward and take each opportunity to learn more when we can. I’d love to stay there while doing it that’s for sure.

I have not visited Kanchanburi but it is evident from your post and pictures that this is one destination that I should not miss. The views are just amazing and having read the book – Bridge on River Kwai, I am even more tempted to visit this place. Thanks for the suggestions on the stays.

I don’t think there was any other place I would want to stay. There are plenty of places on the main street but how could you visit and not stay by the river itself. As for the lesson learnt – not sure Paul will ever learn 😀

Like so many people, I had only heard of the River Kwai through the film – I don’t think it even occurred to me it was based on a true story, or at least elements of one! You’re right, for visiting the River Kwai, you have to stay ‘on’ it – and this resort looks like a lovely choice. And lesson learned about asking for hot curry I hope 😉

You have the best reason to visit Kwai. Floating hotels sound extremely good. Good Times Resort is wonderful as well. The food looks amazing. Super impressed with those photographs. You must have had a pretty Good Time.

I’ve never heard of Kanchanaburi but of course I’ve seen The Bridge on the River Kwai! I love the actors in that film. Sounds like you had a great trip.
