Thank you so much for the information. I am so excited about our trip. There is so much to see and do, the hardest part is deciding on an itinerary of places to go. Thanks again.

Hi Tara, I hope you enjoy Asia as much as we did. My advice would be to really do you research. If you are heading North in Thailand you have the Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai (Great article about the treatment of elephants and the sanctuary -https://greenglobaltravel.com/elephant-nature-park-thailand/). If you are after something further down south, perhaps with somewhere different to stay I would also recommend Elephant Hills (https://www.travellingbookjunkie.com/elephant-hills-luxury-glamping-thailand/) which we stayed at and loved. The Elephants here have all been rescued from the logging trade and other such environments. I hope you find somewhere you like the look of. If you come across any others, I would also love to know.

Thank you for sharing. My dad, mom, a friend, and myself are planning a trip to Asia in January 2020 for 3 weeks. We are going to Thailand and Vietnam for sure, not sure where else as of yet. I loved your insight about the abuse to the elephants. We are wanting to visit an animal sanctuary but have read negative comments about some of them. Do you have any suggestions?
